I'm taking a cooking class!

Hey, everyone! I am blogging again! I'm not sure anyone was reading my blog, but just in case they were, I'm back! I am taking an online cooking class, starting today! I can't wait. It's on www.nourishedkitchen.com and it's all about cooking with real food. I'm going to learn to make yogurt and bread from scratch, how to cook real food the right way to get the most nutritional value, and also how to find "real" food in this area!

So, far, she sent a bonus lesson on how to make pestos and fruit and nut bars. Yum! I can't wait to use it! I have to go grocery shopping and buy some different stuff this week. This morning, I am eating some delicious mango sticky rice (Julio didn't like it), and it's yummy! It's a cool site. I think I found it after watching "Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution". It was super-cool and made me want to eat healthy.

I've also been reading this book called "Change Your Habits, Change Your Life", and it talks about healthy eating as well, so we'll see how this all goes!!!

Oso!

So, we just adopted a 9-week-old puppy from the SPCA. He is a husky mix and super-cute! He is so cuddly and gentle, and he is learning pretty fast. We're trying to get him into a routine, so he doesn't pee in his crate or whine all the time.

He's learning where to go outside to go to the bathroom, and we're learning what he needs (lots of attention, cuddle time, play time, and an eye on him all the time or he'll pee around the room!).

I'm going to try to upload some pictures here, but I don't know if it'll work. If not, I'll try to do it at home!

Things are good!

Hey, I haven't written in a while. It's been a combination of busy-ness with the house and laziness on my part. The house is looking wonderful! Everything is painted and moved in. There's even a bird-feeder outside. The movies are in alphabetical-order in our bookshelves, etc.

We're hoping in the next few weeks to fix the garage door (which is not working) and the fence. Hopefully when the fence is fixed, we are going to go to the SPCA and get a dog! Yay! I'm super-excited about that, but I know we need to fix the fence first! :-)

I've also been drastically reducing my television watching and trying to reconnect to the world. I've been going to church every week and Bible study most weeks, and I'm going to a class at church to learn more about the church and decide whether or not I want to be a member there.

Also fun stuff...Julio and I will have our 5 year since-we-started-dating anniversary on February 10th. We're hoping to go into NYC for Valentine's Day and have lunch in Central Park and go to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Times Square, and Rockefellar Center. We'll be walking our butts off, since I don't know how to use the subway. Wish us luck!

House update!

Okay, guys, we now have taken "Before" and "During" pictures. We shall soon have "After" pictures! :-) We put up the X-mas tree and decorated for Xmas, so that's pretty exciting! I can't wait! First Xmas in our own home! Yay!

We have a house!

Okay, so I already said it, but I can't seem to say it enough! So exciting!!! The carpet is currently finishing being installed. The cable/internet guy is coming today. We got the washer and dryer yesterday. The bed is in and Saturday is the big move-in day! It's going really well! Yay!

Um, yeah, we have a house!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is official, ladies and gents! We own a home! It is beautiful! We are in the process of fixing it up a little (painting, carpeting, cleaning, etc.). More pictures to come when the internet is working in the new place. Things are a little crazy right now, but soon things will be awesome!

WE GOT THE HOUSE!!!!!

Okay, it is now official! We have been approved for our mortgage and will be closing on December 1st. Yay! I'm going to see if I can add this picture!
