Getting closer...

So, I got a call from the realtor, and it looks like the appraisal went through well. It was appraised for $230,000 (which is $18,000 more than we're paying for it!). Also, she called about them picking out a color for the roof, so that sounds good, too! Now we're just waiting for the mortgage to be approved.

Also, I got my bridesmaids' dress for Debbie's wedding. It's very pretty! And, I'm planning her bachlorette party, so that's cool.

So, things are really good!

Charlene's wedding!

It was a blast! I had such a great time! We laughed, we cried, we danced! We screamed the lyrics to "Dancing Queen". Charlene looked beautiful and so did everyone and everything. I love weddings!

More house stuff!

So, we met with the mortgage guy last night and that's looking pretty good. We signed all the stuff and wrote out a check, and he's holding that until we get the radon test back and the sellers sign to fix stuff from the home inspection.

We made a little list of some stuff for them to fix (very small things that an electrician/plumber would need to do). So, we'll see what happens there!

House news!

Okay, so we had the home inspection on Monday, and it went well. There were no major issues. A couple of small safety things (outlets and wires), but nothing big! Also, we talked to the mortgage guy and he's working out a "Good Faith Estimate", and it's looking good so far. So, I'm feeling much less anxious now. We're still waiting for the radon info, and we're meeting with the loan guy on Thursday, so maybe we'll know more by next week.

Also, Charlene's wedding is the 4th! I can't wait for that! I'm going to bring my camera and put on a couple pics!

Contract signed!

Okay, so here's the scoop. The seller's signed our contract, and the people they're buying their new house from signed their contract. So, we're pretty excited, but we want to wait to get super-excited until after the home inspection next week. I'll update you later!

House drama...

Okay, guys, so we heard back from the sellers with a counter-offer (finally!), and we're going to counter-offer their counter-offer tonight! More news to come...

On a very happy note, Julio and I went on a church retreat this weekend. It was soooo much fun! Hopefully I'll get some pics from church people. We got to know people at church, and we got to do really cool stuff, like play basketball, swim, go down a zipline into a lake, and do a ropes course 30 feet up in the air. It was awesome! We were so happy that we went!

Pre-approved!

On Saturday, Julio and I were officially pre-approved for a home loan of $220,000 (which is nice for Harrisonburg, VA). I contacted our new real estate lady, Norma Gardner, and emailed her all our wants and needs for a house. Very exciting time!

Also, this weekend, I went up to visit New Jersey. I stayed with one of my suitemates from college, Sara Greco, and I got to hang out with her and her family and fiancee. Then we went to Charlene's, my roommate from college, bridal shower. So much fun! Can't wait until the wedding on October 4th!

Tango lessons!

I just had my first tango lessons last night! It was awesome! It was at Dancing with Karen in Harrisonburg, and it was so much fun. Way cheap, too. Only $9. Love it! I'm going with my buddy, Erin, to a Foxtrot lesson on Thursday. Yay!

What's going on...

Okay, so here's the latest info on us. We finally finished paying off our relatives around May, so that was exciting, and now we've been saving up for a car for Julio. He's looking for a Jetta, and hopefully that will work out well. We also saw a loan officer about being pre-approved for a home loan. That's looking pretty good. I looked up some houses online in the Harrisonburg High School district, and there are a lot of good houses between $180,000 - $220,000. We've decided to buy the car on credit, so we can have more money faster for the down payment of the house. So, maybe we'll get it by Octoberish! Yay! We're also thinking about going back to Guadalajara in February, maybe make it a yearly thing. We'll let you know...
